What problems did you have?I gained a lot of weight, about 1 kg a month, without having changed my eating habits much. I woke up in the morning with severe joint pain, became immobile, joyless, and suffered from extremely sluggish digestion. I did try to lose weight again through a targeted diet, but I didn't succeed. What has changed since the Panchakarma? My body feels different to how it did before the operation. The long walks and yoga or QiGong with Sara Sellier have made me more mobile again. I can breathe better and feel my old strength and energy again. My weight has gone down, but that's not so important to me anymore. It's more about feeling good in my body again, enjoying exercise, and being pain-free.How long did the Panchakarma last and what exactly happened? The Panchakarma lasted 2 weeks. At the beginning it's about a detoxification process, then you are brought back into physical, mental, and emotional balance; but subconscious experiences can also be dealt with surprisingly effectively. My impression is that Patrick Sellier is very focused on his clients and also adapts the treatment accordingly. This time is certainly not a walk in the park, but he has adapted all treatments and nutritional interventions so that it was always bearable. What does a typical day look like? The best way to start the day is with a sunrise walk through nature. There are a few short circular walks from the village square with great views. Then breakfast porridge (with fruit and spices) is waiting. At 12 noon we meet to cook together or come later for a meal specially cooked for the guest. You can learn a lot about the effects of spices, herbs and other foods. All food comes directly from the farmer and Sara usually brings fresh herbs from her own garden. At 5 p.m. we usually meet for QiGong or yoga. Sara places particular emphasis on correct breathing and correct posture. You participate as much as you can - no overexertion, only what is easy. In between – either in the morning or afternoon – the massages take place. Usually with a lot of oil and sometimes with invigorating additives. Afterwards you spend about 20 minutes in the sauna. In the time in between you can rest, reflect, hike or at least go for a walk. How are you accommodated? You can choose between 5 very different but tastefully furnished apartments between 30 and 60 m2, some with a balcony and fireplace. Each apartment has 2 rooms, so you can really spread out. At least once a week the bed linen and towels are changed and the apartment is thoroughly cleaned. What do you particularly like about Patrick Sellier? His lightheartedness and his joy in his work. He conveys every second that he does what he does with love. We also had a lot of fun together, which is really important to me. Self-discovery is important – undisputed – but who says you can't laugh while doing it? In terms of expertise, he impresses with his diagnostics and comprehensive knowledge. His massages are just right, in terms of pressure, duration and intensity. I particularly enjoyed the 4-hand massages that he does with his students. The two are so well-coordinated that you really don't know who has which hand where - incredibly synchronized. He accompanies you on this 2-week trip with incredible empathy. You feel like you are his only client. Patrick is there when you need him, even if it is just to talk, and he withdraws when it is better to be alone. What should you take with you/what not?I recommend your own tongue scraper (but you also get a stainless steel one when you arrive), toothbrushes, lots of old T-shirts for sweating, a hat, warm socks, comfortable sportswear for yoga and hiking gear. The area around St. Koloman is beautiful, but very mountainous. It is often cool and wet even in midsummer. I had a cell phone with me and was happy to call my husband now and again. I would definitely turn off emails. TV and radio (neither of which are available in the apartments) are distracting, I wouldn't do that. Reading or writing books... The best thing is to think about what you can and want to change in your everyday life and what you will take with you from the wealth of knowledge that Sara and Patrick Sellier provide and integrate into the new phase of your life. Conclusion? I am very happy to have spent these two weeks in St. Koloman with Sara and Patrick and will definitely do it again when I can no longer find my physical and/or mental balance on my own. Even though I sometimes felt lonely - cut off from my "normal" life - I would do it exactly the same again. Everything else distracts from actually finding peace and finding yourself.
